Denver International Airport (DEN) is the largest airport in the Western Hemisphere and the second largest worldwide. In 2023, it was named the third busiest airport in the United States and sixth in the world. DEN has eight main parking lots with over 150 sub-levels and 50,000 parking spaces.
Because of the airport's size, DEN had concerns about lost tickets, stolen vehicles, and passengers losing their cars. Their enforcement policy was difficult to perform due to the high number of parking spots.
They had a previous License Plate Inventory system that was rendered obsolete and ineffective due to its limited capabilities in terms of the number of vehicles scanned and poor search and categorization capabilities. They also needed a plate lookup application for security and customer service purposes.
Survision’s LPI to Go solution was implemented:
This fleet of 4 vehicles, equipped with two cameras each, makes it possible to scan and process all vehicles daily and categorize them by zone, stay time and status.
The connected online dashboard allows refined search operations, making vehicle location and report generation easy and fast, even if it's about large amounts of license plates.
The time required to complete the inventory has been reduced considerably, making it possible to generate reports for the 50,000+ vehicles that come through daily, being able to report up to 150,000 on peak times.
Survision’s LPI solution has simplified the Airport’s inventory process. Now, DEN has an easy and user-friendly way to operate and analyze the large amount of vehicles parking on their installations.
